Process

PROCESS 

The artist’s process may be subject to change without notice. 

Unless it is a rush order, the artist will work with a queue system — first come, first serve. 

The artist will work in Photoshop, Clip Studio on a 300+ dpi canvas or traditional means including pencils and ink. 

PART I: PRE-COMMISSION 

DOCUMENTS:  

The commissioner reads the TERMS OF SERVICE, and PROCESS documents. 

COMMISSION FORM:  

The commissioner will fill out a COMMISSION FORM via Google Forms. 

Once the form is completed, the commissioner will receive a confirmation that their form is submitted via email. 

If the commissioner is unable to attach reference images in the COMMISSION FORM, they will be asked by artist to send them via  email before the commission is fully processed. 

APPROVAL:  

If the commission is not approved and all commission slots are filled up, the commissioner will have to wait until the artist opens  their next round of commissions to resend the form. 

If the commission is approved, the commissioner will be given a price quote. Once agreed to, the artist will prepare an invoice. The commissioner sends payment only after the artist sends them an invoice. 

The commissioner will have 24 hours notice before the artists starts the commissioned artwork, unless requested otherwise by  the commissioner. 

Payment must be made in full during that 24 hour period, otherwise the commissioner will be skipped over in the queue until the  payment is made. 

PART II: COMMISSION 

SKETCH & ROUGH LIGHTING PASS  

The artist will present ideation sketches with a rough lighting pass for the commissioner to select from. This is the only stage when major revisions can be made completely free of charge. 

LINE ART & FLAT COLORS  

The artist will present the cleaned up line art with flat colors (unshaded) Minor revisions, such as color changes, are free or charge. Major revisions will cost extra.

RENDERING  

The artist will begin rendering the commissioned artwork to completion. 

During this stage, the artist will not send updates unless requested by the commissioner until the work is completed. Any revisions during this stage will cost extra, as listed in the Prices section of the terms and conditions document. 

FINAL PRODUCT  

Once the commissioned artwork is complete, the artist will send via email the full-size PNG image or for a higher fee the original  pencils/artwork, but never the PSD working file.
